It’s Never Too Late to Learn: Motivated Older Students Are Flocking to Practical Homeopathy®

Never give up. Never give in. It’s never too late to learn to know what to do!

Indeed, older students are flocking to Practical Homeopathy®.

Henry Ford once said, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”

Yes!

Practical Homeopathy®: Young Folks Discover a Purposeful College Alternative

Younger people are currently foregoing college to study in The Academy of Practical Homeopathy®. The introduction of these new, young Practical Homeopaths® into our society is a beautiful development I previously discussed in my blog post, College Isn’t for Everyone: 2 Valuable Alternative Career Paths.

In fact, recent studies reported by Armstrong Economics have shown that College Graduates Face Higher Levels of Unemployment.

Yet, there is always a need for local homeopaths — perhaps now, more than ever, as the public awakens to the questionable motivations of Big Pharma and conventional medical interventions.

Practical Homeopathy®: Older Students Discover a Purposeful Second Life

However, today, it’s the middle-aged and older folks — like me — whom I want to address. These folks have had their careers, whether out in the workplace, on the farm, or raising their kids. These individuals are looking for new challenges. Simply because the calendar has progressed, the just aren’t done yet.

More often than not, the people who join The Academy are in their forties, fifties, and sixties.

Sometimes, they’re thinking homeopathy can be their second career. They've already retired; they're done.

Or they're frustrated with their current careers. Medical professionals — doctors, nurses, chiropractors, physical therapists — come to The Academy to add an alternative to their conventional healthcare options, one they’ve observed is effective and free of side effects.

Or now they're grandmothers, and their motivation is their grandchildren and generational sites.

Or now, they've moved out to the country, and they have chickens and goats to tend to (without huge veterinary bills).

Learning homeopathy now is like a second breath, a second life. It's really fascinating to observe the renewed enthusiasm and purpose exhibited by these “older” people.

Some retirees are not starting second careers; they just finally have the freedom from other responsibilities to gain true health freedom using homeopathy as they've always wanted to. Now, in retirement, they have the financial comfort and the time.

For instance, one of my Academy students is in her eighties. She simply wants to learn. She just wants to know more. She was a client of mine over the years, so she’s been studying for a long time. But now, she really wants to dive in with both feet, and she finally has the freedom to do just that. Now that’s my kind of student!… My kind of person!

Indeed, seniors know their education will benefit the entire family. Plus, learning something challenging is a great way to keep the mind active and maintain mental acuity — a win-win.

My friends, when you have a purpose in life, it can be revolutionary.  If you're going to sit and watch a screen during the day, saturating yourself with depressing news, you're doomed. But using that time to learn homeopathy is different. I’ve observed many older students finding it reinvigorating in every aspect of their lives.

Indeed, with gray hair comes wisdom.

Are we seniors inherently smarter? Well, maybe. But many young people in The Academy are brilliant. However, as we age, we can interpret new knowledge through the lens of our lifetime of experience, which adds a heightened level to our understanding that the younger students may not fully realize … yet.

It’s called wisdom.

And then there’s relevance.

At holiday gatherings, have you ever listened to the young people talk and feel like you don’t have anything to offer to their conversations about current social trends and ever-changing technology, while using new terminology that sounds like jabberwocky to you?

Health is a topic that interests everyone, regardless of age. Alternative health is a hot topic right now, as blind acceptance of conventional medical treatments is eroding.

Practical Homeopathy® can provide relevance to you in your children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Don’t believe me? Check out the blog post I wrote regarding my son and daughter-in-law’s dog, Flynn.

Imagine how relevant I felt, knowing that what I taught my son is now being integrated into his young family’s everyday life.

That feeling is priceless. And you can have it, too. You can get those calls from your grandkids when they’re not feeling well. “Nonna, what do I do for this sore throat?” and “Nonna, I fell off the swing set and bumped my head. What should I take?” will eventually turn into, “Nonna, my husband’s having muscle spasms in his back. Can you help?”

Beyond all of those advantages to learning homeopathy when you’re older, I have to mention one more: social interaction.

I have designed The Academy of Practical Homeopathy®, my Gateway to Practical Homeopathy®: A Guided Study Group Curriculum, as well as my Mighty Members and Mighty Members Plus and even the Monday Night Lives, to fully embrace the power of learning in a group. It’s how I learned homeopathy when I first started decades ago.

Take advantage of the supportive groups that are just waiting for you to join them. Maintaining relationships and new social connections is part of good mental health as we age. Plus, you learn so much more with others than you can alone. They may ask different questions than you might and share inspirational success stories that will keep you bolstered when you feel discouraged.

It's Never Too Late to Learn

In fact, as you read this blog this weekend, I am meeting with my Academy and Mastery students and graduates in person in Jupiter, Florida. You honestly can’t even imagine the energy this camaraderie radiates. Last year, we had several passers-by ask us who we were. They wanted to join this large, dynamic, positive group.

Just think. Next year, you could be right there celebrating with us. It’s never too late to learn, my friends.

If you enjoy this content, please share it. Also check out my podcasts, Monday Night Lives, and connect with me on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Pass on the good news of Practical Homeopathy®!

Warmly,

  1. Joette, you hit the nail on the head. I’m not surprised, you do it with every breath you take! I am 77 and have been studying for almost 4 years. the only good thing that came out of the COVID pandemic. Our lives flipped after the pandemic and friendships changed. Thank G-d for you and Homeopathy! I spend at least 20-30 hours a week studying, listening, reading and taking courses with your study groups. I am a community homeopathy leader. I love it! Thank you for your generosity and this community. I am so grateful to have found you all. I have no regrets in life except I wish I had found you sooner. Blessings!

  2. Hi Joette, I agree you hit the nail on the head. I’m sitting at home because of the govt shutdown. I’m a long-time federal govt worker but planning retirement. This month on furlough gave me the time to dive more deeply into homeopathy, something I’ve been thinking about for about a year now. I love it. Like you say, it energizes me to read about this topic. I will retire early next year and look forward to including more study of homeopathy during my days. Who knows where it will lead but it most certainly connects with my core values and faith. Thank you!
